How Does SOURCE Promote Community Collaboration?
On Friday, February 27th, SOURCE hosted a Nonprofit Summit and brought together over 140 community members to discuss community collaboration. Looking forward, SOURCE hopes to continue to promote and support local collaboration.
Here are three major ways we promote collaboration:
- Connecting clients. We’ve served over 17 different local nonprofits in Claremont, maybe of which have complementary missions. We often connect our partners to each other, especially when they have aligned missions.
- Connecting clients with Claremont Colleges. Many nonprofits use SOURCE as a bridge between the nonprofit community and the Claremont College. We offer insights on how to best conduct outreach in the Claremont College community in order to recruit volunteers and interns and to identify relevant resources.
- Connecting SOURCE teams. While each nonprofit partner differs, common learning occurs across different projects and we strive to maximize cross-team collaboration within SOURCE in order to optimize organizational learning.
In order to continue promoting community collaboration, we hope to host regular brown bag lunches every quarter. We are still confirming the details! If you already know you’re interested in participating in this brown bag lunch series, please contact us at SOURCE@cmc.edu.
